這些年來，米加盧每年的遷徙之旅總讓賞鯨愛好者相當期待能一睹牠的身影，不過畢竟有3、4萬隻座頭鯨在這個季節往北前進，想要看到米加盧也是得靠運氣的，而且據昆士蘭州法律規定，禁止船隻、賞鯨船接近米加盧500公尺範圍內，否則將被罰款，以確保米加盧的安全。
